A Little About Me
My Passion: Specialized Care Across the Lifespan
Welcome! I’m Dr. Beth Whetstone, a Doctor of Physical Therapy dedicated to helping infants, families, and individuals of all ages restore comfort, regain independence, and enjoy a vibrant quality of life.
My journey into this work is deeply personal. When our triplets were born prematurely, we found ourselves managing three entirely different sets of medical needs at once. Navigating that fragile, overwhelming transition from the NICU to our home was a massive challenge—until a talented Craniosacral Therapy (CST) practitioner changed everything for our family. That experience inspired a lifelong dedication to specialized manual therapies and shaped my clinical philosophy: delivering highly advanced, personalized care wrapped in a warm, family-centered approach. Today, I am dedicated to supporting the body’s innate ability to heal, whether that means helping a fragile newborn thrive or guiding an adult through complex neurological recovery.
Advanced Clinical Expertise & Specializations
Whether treating an infant developing early motor milestones or an adult recovering from a complex injury, my approach is rooted in advanced science, precise manual skills, and deep empathy.
Advanced Pediatric & Neuromotor Skills
Children’s bodies require an exceptionally skilled, gentle touch. My advanced certifications ensure the highest standard of specialized care for complex pediatric needs:
-
Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist (PCS): This designation is nationally recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. It represents advanced clinical knowledge, elevated skills, and high-level expertise in pediatric physical therapy.
-
Certified Neuro-Developmental Therapist (C/NDT): Highly specialized training focused on treating infants and children with complex medical histories, neuromotor challenges, and developmental delays. Having served as a Teaching Assistant for professional NDT courses, I bring hands-on clinical interventions that facilitate proper alignment, posture, and motor control.
-
Sensory Integration & Pediatric Kinesiotaping: Tailored techniques to support motor milestones, improve coordination and regulation, and help children comfortably navigate their physical worlds.
-
Respiratory Management & Postural Control: Advanced trained in Mary Massery's pioneering approach to how breathing mechanics impact core stability, developmental milestones, and neurological recovery. Having served as a Course Teaching Assistant (TA) for her professional classes, I bring a deeply refined understanding of these concepts to my practice. I utilize advanced manual interventions, thoracic expansion, and trunk strengthening to actively improve airway clearance, breath support, and overall motor function across all age groups.
-
Developmental Orthopedics & Custom Bracing: Extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal development, alignment, and bone growth in growing children. Expertly guiding the assessment, recommendation, and management of therapeutic bracing, orthotics, and adaptive equipment to optimize posture and independent mobility.
-
Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy (CST): Utilizing the Upledger approach, Beth applies a gentle, light-touch manual approach to optimize nervous system regulation in developing children. Highly effective in treating infant feeding difficulties, structural restrictions, sleep disturbances, and physical tension stemming from early medical complexities.
Adult Orthopedic Care
An integrative approach to biomechanics allows me to help adults recover from traumas and injuries:
- Advanced Manual Therapy & Joint Health: Utilizing targeted manual techniques to restore joint mechanics, alleviate chronic pain, and accelerate recovery from orthopedic injuries.
Adult Neurological Care & Nervous System Regulation
-
Neurological Recovery: Supporting adults recovering from neurological injuries, helping to rewire movement patterns and restore functional independence.
-
Craniosacral Therapy (CST): A profound, non-invasive manual approach that calms the central nervous system, effectively addressing chronic nervous system dysregulation, headaches, and complex pain impairments.
I look forward to partnering with you—or your child—on a unique, highly focused journey toward comfort, healing, and true physical freedom
